welcome

As a freelance writer and former police officer I’ve covered criminal justice issues ranging from officer fitness to patrol technology. I’m also a contributing editor at Law Enforcement Technology, the premiere resource for police professionals (www.officer.com), where I am the management columnist.

I write true crime, op-eds, analyses, narrative and investigative pieces on any and all aspects of criminology. I am especially interested in missing persons, but will address almost any subject in the criminal justice spectrum.

My criminal justice blog, What Cops Know, grew out of a column I wrote for CompuServe and Netscape. In addition to my sometimes contrarian opinions, my blog offers insight on crime prevention techniques, missing persons, how police and the media interact and lots of other things that show up in my mental crosshairs.

Take a look at my blog, drop me a note. Agree or disagree – it won’t hurt my feelings. But I won’t let you curse or name call there, either. It’s a blog, not a bar.
